Meet Our Doctors

Boise Dentist

Ryan L. Olson, DDS

Dr. Ryan Olson received his doctorate of dental surgery in 2008 from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond Virginia. He did his undergraduate studies at BYU-Idaho and Idaho State University. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Olson completed a 1 year residency in general dentistry at Ft. Jackson South Carolina. There he became proficient in multiple disciplines of dentistry including wisdom teeth extraction, implant restorations, root canal therapy, crown and bridge treatment, cosmetic dentistry and periodontal surgery.

In the summer of 2013, Dr. Olson and his family moved from Fort Hood, TX after serving our men and women in the US Army. Working on many young soldiers has turned Dr. Olson into an expert in wisdom teeth extraction. Dr. Olson has done thousands, most of which are impacted and would be considered very difficult for a general dentist. He is very happy to be providing quality dental care for adults and children in Boise and the surrounding areas.

James Stirland, DMD

Dr. James Stirland discovered his love for dentistry while attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he graduated with a BS in Neuroscience. He then received his DMD at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California in 2014. After graduation from school, Dr. Stirland completed a 2-year residency in General Dentistry at Fort Hood, Texas with the U.S. Army. In 2017 he was assigned to the Last Frontier in Alaska where he expanded his scope of dentistry. Dr. Stirland ran the Army’s dental clinic at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson where he was able to manage care for over 4000 soldiers and mentor multiple general dentists to pursue higher areas of interest.

While on active duty with the U.S. Army, he has developed valuable dental skills including placing dental implants to restore missing teeth, thus aiding function and aesthetics; periodontal surgeries to restore oral health in diseased tissue or as a necessary prep for other procedures; endodontic procedures; extensive surgical cases such as wisdom teeth removal, biopsies, and trauma; orthodontics; pedodontics; and overall comprehensive care of the patient. He also has a great passion for CEREC technology (same-day crowns).

Dr. Stirland loves being able to help people reach their fullest potential in oral health through teaching. His favorite part of dentistry is the role he plays in helping boost his patient’s confidence by helping them turn their lives from painful insecurity to a healthy, confident smile. His patients recognize his calm and kind nature, and feel comfortable and at ease in his care.

When not in the dental office, you can find Dr. Stirland with his beautiful wife, Rachel, and their three wonderful children hitting the rivers to fish, playing soccer in the backyard, or exploring a new trail!
